The Capital One Bank Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot is the largest Thanksgiving Day event of its kind in the country.

The Capital One Bank Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot is the largest Thanksgiving Day event of its kind in the country. For the third consecutive year, the Dallas YMCA has chosen KIMBIA to power its online registrations. This year, however, they’ve taken their event to the next level with a site designed to enhance the KIMBIA-powered registrations and fundraising capabilities.

The site at www.thetrot.org is designed first and foremost to make registering for one of the four races as easy and efficient as possible. (Check out the registration pages here) It is also designed to allow participants to become volunteer fundraisers for the YMCA as well. Participants can select from one of five different fundraising goals, and they’ll instantly receive a personal fundraising URL with a progress meter telling them how close they are to reaching their goals. Participant fundraisers even have the ability to copy and paste their personalized form onto their own Website or blog, so they can raise money on their own sites.

This year’s version of the Capital One Bank Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot is poised to be the best yet. Those of us working on this at KIMBIA are honored to be involved with such a first class event and organization. If you’re organization is planning a participatory event and need online registration/fundraising help, please contact us at info@kimbia.com

In the first week of May 2010, heavy rains fell on the Middle Tennessee region raising the Cumberland River to unprecedented levels and flooding much of the Metro Nashville area. Powered by the combined efforts of KIMBIA and GuideStar’s DonorEdge platform, The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee responded immediately with a custom online fundraising campaign.

The Community Foundation was able to quickly launch branded, embeddable fundraising widgets all around the community just days after the disaster. Within a week the widget had spread to dozens of sites, including CBS.com, The Academy of Country Music, and GAC-TV’s Websites. In all, the widgets have raised well over a million dolllars in relief funds, with over 46% of the donations coming from third-party sites like the ones mentioned above. Combined with the swift and strategic leadership of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennesse, this technology has proven itself to be invaluable during disaster relief fundraising efforts.

UPDATE: As of the 6.23.2010 maintenance release, new HTML container elements have been added to the KIMBIA form widget. These new elements will facilitate more advanced form layouts via CSS and provide a more accurate method of styling. Any custom stylesheet that was written prior to these updates should continue to work as expected and no changes are necessary to accommodate these new elements. However, if you are applying custom styles to your KIMBIA form widget, we recommend reading the updated documentation and CSS examples.

With the release of our widget v2 or "short snippet", we have updated the documentation for configuring and customizing your KIMBIA forms. The new documentation covers everything from understanding the "new" short snippet to applying custom styles.

Highlights of the documentation:

Understanding the New short 'snippet'

Modifying the short 'snippet' configuration

Appending the short 'snippet' manually

Default behavior of the Kimbia form

Applying custom styling

Widget v2 HTML structure

Example custom CSS styles

In response to many customer requests, we are very excited to present the example CSS styles. While our forms are extremely flexible in how they are styled, this flexibility has left many wondering where to begin. Now all you have to do is begin with one of the example style sheets and edit or tweak it from there - much easier than starting from scratch.

A future post will be highlighting some customer examples, so if you would like your form or widget highlighted just let us know.

Here are instructions describing how you can pre-fill the contact information in KIMBIA forms so your known user doesn't have to type it.

Are you a KIMBIA customer running an email donation or registration fundraising campaign and you already know your donor’s contact information? If you do and can uniquely identify the user when they load the page, you can pre-fill the contact information in KIMBIA forms so the user doesn’t have to type it.

Some examples of fields you can pre-fill:

First Name

Last Name

Email

Street Address Line 1

Streed Address Line 2

City

State

Zipcode

Phone

How to Set Kimbia Contact Profile Values

1) Determine the question.name. Usually, this can be determined by loading the form and getting the name attribute of the input. Do not use other attributes.

Put a Custom Function in the
<head>
of the web page, using JavaScript.

<script type="text/javascript">

function prefill(widget) {

// do tasks here.

}

</script>

2) In your Custom Function, add calls to the widget API to set desired answer values.

widget.setDefaultAnswerValueByQuestionName("questionName", "desired value");

Examples:

widget.setDefaultAnswerValueByQuestionName("FirstName", "Bart");

widget.setDefaultAnswerValueByQuestionName("_payment.firstName", "PayFirstNameTest");

widget.setDefaultAnswerValueByQuestionName("LastName", "Jones");

widget.setDefaultAnswerValueByQuestionName("ContactEmail", "bartjones@mailinator.com");

widget.setDefaultAnswerValueByQuestionName('MailingAddress|country', 'US');

//NOTE: when working with Addresses, set country first.

widget.setDefaultAnswerValueByQuestionName("MailingAddress|street1", "1234 Testing Avenue");

widget.setDefaultAnswerValueByQuestionName("MailingAddress|street2", "#2");

widget.setDefaultAnswerValueByQuestionName("MailingAddress|city", "Pleasantville");

widget.setDefaultAnswerValueByQuestionName("MailingAddress|state", "AL");

widget.setDefaultAnswerValueByQuestionName("MailingAddress|zipcode", "78704");

widget.setDefaultAnswerValueByQuestionName("Q4J3CDKWLGG", "555-555-5555,");

***see notes below

3) Put your snippet in the BODY of the page. Add the
&onload=
parameter to it that matches the name of your custom function.

<script src="https://widgets.kimbia.com/widgets/form.js?channel=[CAMPAIGN_PREFIX]/[FORM_SUFFIX]&onload=prefill"/>

NOTES:

When setting Address values, always set country first.

Field names may change from form to form for the items that are optionally added to Contact Information, like Title and Phone Numbers. So, don’t assume that “Phone” will always work as a randomly generated name is just as likely to be given to a field.

At KIMBIA we are constantly evangelizing the need for a better online giving experience for donors. We feel that if you work hard to deliver a message that inspires people to give their hard-earned dollars, then the act of making that transaction online should be as simple and reaffirming of their decision as possible. We also say that when KIMBIA forms are used as part of that commitment to improving all online giving opportunities, then you can expect dramatic improvements in online giving. Need proof? Please check out our latest case study from the Heritage Foundation.

Since 2008, KIMBIA has worked with the Heritage Foundation to improve online donations for their “Ask Heritage” member outreach and acquisition campaign. The campaign, coordinated with KIMBIA partner KMA Communications, was an undeniable success with conversion rates 3x the industry average and 90% first-time donors. In March of 2010, The Heritage foundation made the decision to switch the primary donation pages of Heritage.org over to KIMBIA forms. The results are impressive.

Doubled Main Donation Page Conversion Rate

Tripled Overall Conversions

Doubled Average Daily Giving

For more info and examples of how The Heritage Foundation achieved these results, please click here to download the full case study.

Last Sunday, the Music City-Keep on Playin’ benefit concert on GAC took place and it was an unquestioned success raising well over a $1.4 Million for the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. The viral momentum of this campaign continues this week with another Televised special benefiting the flood victims in Tennessee. This time the Academy of Country Music and CBS television will air a 2-hour Brooks & Dunn Special. During the broadcast viewers will be directed to CBS.com/Give where they will be presented with a KIMBIA-powered form to accept their donation.

Fundraising events like these are uniquely successful because they are able to promote and accept donations directly their own Websites. Perhaps even more impressive is that continued success of the viral fundraising application, as organizations all around nashville participated by grabbing the form and promoting their own sites for fundraising. Of course, every dollar of funds transacted through these forms goes directly to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, allowing them to see a realtime snapshot of which sites are participating in raising the much needed dollars.

Below are some more screenshots of other sites who have generously participated in this unique fundraising event.

Original Posting

In any natural disaster, a “rapid-response” online fundraising strategy is crucial. Powered by the combined efforts of KIMBIA and GuideStar’s DonorEdge platform, the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee (CFMT) was able to be the first major fundraising organization to respond with a custom online fundraising campaign.

Recently, KIMBIA and GuideStar began a partnership to enhance the fundraising potential of the GuideStar DonorEdge platform with KIMBIA powered fundraising forms. DonorEdge provides large fundraising organizations like The Community Foundation with an online platform to easily match donors with organizations in their community who need their help. Over the past week, the CFMT was able to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars by leveraging their existing relationships with media outlets and using agile fundraising tools. Here’s a rundown of the good work they are doing…

 1) Created New Profiles for Flood Relief Funds

Using their Donor Edge Platform at GivingMatters.com, the CFMT was able to create new organization profiles for the two funds created to aid in relief efforts. Within a day, each of these two funds had a unique “donate now” landing page on GivingMatters.com with a KIMBIA powered donation form. Check them out now Metro Nashville Disaster Response Fund and The Tennessee Emergence Response Fund

 2) Launched Giving Widgets on CFMT.org

Initially, The CFMT sent all donors directly to the two links above at GivingMatters.com, which was very effective, but still added an extra step and a change in URL before a donor could make their transaction. With the help of KIMBIA and GuideStar, the CFMT was immediately able to create a custom sized and styled widget that was able embeddable directly on the CFMT Website. Now, donors could come directly to CFMT.org, pick the flood relief fund they wish, give to a styled form directly on-site, and then have the option to grab the entire form and embed it on their own sites.

 3) Leveraged Relationships to Push Widgets and Spread the Word Virally

Once the Widgets were built and deployed on CFMT.org, the next step was to get the community involved directly by hosting the forms directly and/or sharing a link back to forms. The CFMT contacted local media outlets and let them know that they could grab the full donation form widget and place it directly on their own flood relief pages. This is beneficial for two reasons. 1) The media outlets below were able to promote their own sites and allow visitors to give a complete donation without every clicking away. 2) Having donation forms on many sites distributes the load of donations to many sites across the Internet meaning that the CFMT Website doesn’t have to shoulder all of the load of traffic. Check out the local Webistes below who generously posted the donation form directly onto their own sites.

From there is wasn’t long before the efforts went viral across the Internet…

Former Vice President Al Gore tweeted and blogged about the efforts on The Huffington Post

Groupon offered valuable promotional space on their “Deal of The Day” emails and on their Web site promoting the efforts of the CFMT.

Overall this is an excellent example of how smart strategies, combined with flexible tools can enable fundraising organizations to quickly mobilize people to action and get funds into the hands of the people that need it most.

Part 3 of 3 provides a walkthrough of a model advocacy-based fundraising site and explains how to tie a registration form to your fundraiser.

Configuring a time-based, goal-based, participatory fundraiser in Kimbia is a snap.

Part 3 of this simple guide explains how to:

Define a specific, public financial goal and goal date for your campaign

Enable your donors to also advocate and raise money for your campaign

Publicly display campaign progress and the progress of individual advocates

Track the performance of advocate supporters

Link a registration form to a donation form so that a new registrant is automatically signed up to raise money

Review a demonstration site that can be used as a model for your campaign

Using a registration form to sign up new advocate fundraisers

Kimbia registration forms can easily be linked to an individual donation form within your campaign.

Anyone registering using a linked registration form is automatically registered as a new advocate for the designated fundraiser.

Some common examples:

Your organization hosts an annual gala, golf tournament or 5K fun run. If you link the event registration form to the fundraiser, each new registrant will receive the fundraising tools described herein.

You organization wishes to recruit advocates to drive a campaign. In this case, you might create a simple registration form - it can include as little as just an email address. Each person signing up with automatically receive fundraising tools.

After you’ve setup your registration form, linking the form to a fundraiser is easy. Edit the Form Setting for your registration form and select the donation form that the registration form will distribute.

In this example, the registrant is simply providing contact information to sign up as an advocate. They will only see payment screens if they chose to make an optional donation, otherwise, they’ll receive a registration confirmation and their advocacy tools in their inbox.

Putting it all together ... the model Everybody advocacy site

To view a live version of the campaign used in this example please visit:

http://amhope.blogspot.com/

To try out these advocacy tools, visit the donate page and give a gift. The fundraiser is in Test Mode, so you can complete a transaction with the fake credit card number:
4111 1111 1111 1111
and verification code:
123.

Give yourself a gift or ask a friend do so to experience the whole process.

This campaign site includes lots of good promotional text. We welcome you to borrow any of our formats or text.

How Everybody Advocacy works for donors and donor advocates

Each time a donor donates to your campaign, they will see several options on the confirmation screen for viral or social promotion of the campaign.

Each donor will also receive an email with simple instructions on how to promote the campaign.

Donor advocates can email friends from the email button ...

... or post their personal link via Facebook or Twitter

Facebook post

Donors following the link will be taken to a donation form personalized for that advocate.

Donor advocates can also publish their fundraiser on a personal Web page or blog.

On blogs or personal pages, the entire donation form is displayed and donors can complete the transaction without every leaving your advocate’s site.

It is important to note that your organization always controls the donation form centrally from the Kimbia control panel. Anytime you change options in the control panel, all remote forms will change instantly. When the campaign is over, all the remote forms will automatically turn off.

Each time a donor advocate gets a new gift, they will receive a follow up email letting them know who gave the gift with a handy link to send a thank you note via email.

Advocates will also get a status update on their fundraising progress and the progress of the overall campaign. Each email update also includes further encouragement and tools for continuing the promotional effort.

When a donor gives to an advocate, the advocate who encouraged the donation is recognized in their email receipt.

Tracking your advocate’s progress via reporting and promoting further action

Keeping up with your individual advocates during the campaign is easy. One of the default reports in Data Management is Everybody Performance under Financial Transactions.

This report lists each advocate, their unique AdvocateId, the number of gifts they’ve received and the URL of the Web sites where they have received gifts.

Of course, it is always a great idea to email your best advocates to keep them motivated and thank them for their support.

AdvocateId is a standard field in reporting. So, if you’re running a report to look at individual gifts to the campaign, you can add this field to see which gifts were given due to advocate activity.

Also, AdvocateId can be exported the same way that email addresses can be exported. This is useful for several purposes, including:

Sending follow up emails to your advocates to encourage them to start fundraising or continue fundraising.

Embedding the AdvocateId in emails sent from your regular email application so you'll be able to track gifts that come from promotional activities, such as email forwarding.

Adding AdvocateIds to future campaigns. Even if the donor advocate has not interacted with that campaign you can attach their AdvocateId to a donation form URL and track their promotional activity.

In Part 3, we’ll provide a walkthrough of a model advocacy-based fundraising site and explain how to tie a registration to your fundraiser.

Configuring a time-based, goal-based, participatory fundraiser in Kimbia is a snap. This first in a series of 3 articles will get you on the road to successful fundraising in no time at all.

Configuring a time-based, goal-based, participatory fundraiser in Kimbia is a snap.

What you'll learn about in Part 1 of this guide:

Define a specific, public financial goal and goal date for your campaign

Enable your donors to also advocate and raise money for your campaign

Publicly display campaign progress and the progress of individual advocate

Track the performance of advocate supporters

Link a registration form to a donation form so that a new registrant is automatically signed up to raise money

Review a demonstration site that can be used as a model for your campaign

Step 1 - Create a new campaign

Create your campaign and enter a Goal Date and Goal Amount.

The Goal Amount and Goal Date display as countdowns in the progress widget.

Step 2 - Create new donation forms

When you are creating each of your donation forms within the campaign, turn on Make Progress Public.

Every donation form within the campaign that has Make Progress Public turned 'On' will contribute to the total reported by the progress widget.
Note: It is possible to exclude some forms from the campaign total by leaving Make Progress Public set to Off. It is also possible to configure a progress widget to point to a specific form. That's why forms also have a Goal setting.

Two things occur when public progress is turned on.

First, progress to goal will be displayed in any progress widgets attached to this campaign ... (more on this below »)

Second, when your donors become advocates and convince their friends to donate, they’ll get an email updating them on their personal fundraising progress and the progress of the overall campaign ... (more on this below »)

Step 3 - Form Settings edit Everybody Setting

When creating each donation form, go to Form Settings and edit your Everybody Settings by turning Everybody On. Enter the URL where your donation form is hosted.

Step 4 - Form Settings edit Advocacy Settings

Another step...

In Form Settings ... edit Advocacy Settings.

First, edit the Personalized Message. This message displays when an advocate donor sends a friend back to the donation page.

Second, edit the Advocacy email header and footer. Whenever a donor gives to this form, he or she will automatically receive instructions about how to help promote the campaign. The instructions will arrive in an email sent as the same time as their receipt.

If If the advocate clicks the email button, the advocacy email will be queued up so they can easily send it to friends.

Step 5 - Install a progress tracker widget next to your donation form

Installing the progress tracker is as simple as installing a Kimbia donation widget.

The code for the widget is always:

<script src="https://widgets.kimbia.com/widgets/executor/statusBar?campaign=[campaign_prefix].kimbia.com"></script>

Copy and paste the progress widget on your organization's home page or the front page of the campaign web site.

The progress tracker should also be placed on the donation page. Placing the tracker on the donation pages display the progress of the campaign to anyone considering a gift. More importantly, when an advocate sends a friend to the donation page, the tracker will display the advocate’s progress.

The tracker can be placed above the donation form, but it can also be pasted into a nearby column.

If a donor is sent to the page by an advocate, they will see the advocate’s individual progress instead the campaign’s progress.

As smartphones and mobile devices become a more ubiquitous part our everyday lives, your supporters expect to be empowered with mobile-ready donation and registration systems. Therefore, every organization should address this need by asking the following questions.

What will become the prevailing technology platform for mobile donations

What technology will be reliable and efficient enough to meet our needs?

What technology provides the levels of security and authentication needed to meet your donors’ expectations and can stand up to the scrutiny of strict fundraising guidelines.

What technology can offer fully functional forms that capture all the data needed to build a relationship with donors.

Below are some answers on how KIMBIA approaches mobile donations and registrations.

Our Mobile Donations Approach: Web standards-based technology

In the recent history of mobile Internet browsing, it would be safe to say that user experiences varied widely from one donor to another. However, this has recently changed with the advent next generation mobile browsers like Safari for the iPhone and Google Android. These newer devices with increased processor speed, built in keyboards & touch screens promise a more 'personal computer'-like browsing experience than the text based mobile browsing of just a few years ago.

At KIMBIA, we build all of our applications to work with Web standards. For mobile devices, this is an important distinction. Building applications to work with Web standards means that as mobile Web browsing becomes more prominent, mobile browsers will be forced to adopt more a more standards-based approached. Therefore KIMBIA is positioned to become the platform best-suited to provide a rich online donation experience whether the donor is browsing from their desktop, laptop, netbook, tablet, or smartphone.

KIMBIA is ahead of the curve on this transition, having already launched customer solutions built around this standards-based approach. KIMBIA's apps rely on standards-based security features, JavaScript functionality, and CSS 2 support. These technologies are commonplace on todays desktop browsers (Firefox, IE7 & 8, Safari & Opera), and the newest, most popular mobile browsers also currently support these same standards. The following standards-based mobile browsers support KIMBIA applications today:

Safari (available on iPhone & iTouch)

Google's Android

Opera Mobile (available for Google's Android, Most Blackberry devices, Windows Mobile, & Symbian OS)

The chart below shows that a handful of mobile browser platforms account for almost all of the mobile Internet activity in the United States. Based off of these most recent statistics, KIMBIA donations and registrations are accessible to more than 70% of mobile Internet traffic. We expect this number to trend steadily upward as more mobile browsers are released and/or improved. For example, watch this video from RIM founder and CEO talking about blackberry’s upcoming browser developed on the WebKit standard and optimized for Javascript web applications. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iD-FqvXVl3U

Efficiency & Reliability

Another benefit of using KIBMIA as a mobile donations platform is the fact that it uses the same payment infrastructure, deployment model and data accessibility standards you already have in place. For example:

The process for building a mobile-optimized KIMBIA form is no different than building any other KIMBIA form.

Mobile donation/registration applications have full KIMBIA functionality.

All funds collected through the form go directly from the donor’s credit card to the merchant account you’ve already established.

Any database and compliance integrations will continue to work as expected.

All donor data will be instantly available in your KIMBIA reports immediately after a donor makes a transaction.

Security, Integrity & Donor Authenticity

Some very important considerations for any organization looking into mobile donations is the security, system integrity and donor authentication involved in each transaction. We believe that KIMBIA is the only platform that is prepared today to meet all of these needs on mobile devices today. For example:

All data being sent through a KIMBIA form on a mobile device is sent through SSL encryption and is PCI compliant. A donation made through a mobile-optimized KIMBIA form uses the same high level standard of security found on your current site.

KIMBIA forms in a mobile environment take direct credit card transactions. Nothing is being charged through a cell phone company or other third party. The transaction will require the CVV security code to complete a transaction ensuring a high threshold of donor authenticity.

KIMBIA forms will accept all the required fields needed by your organization. Fields like ‘Full name’, ‘email address’ ‘mailing address’, and custom questions like ‘employer’ and ‘occupation’ are all fields that you may need to be submitted along with a donation. With KIMIBA mobile-optimized forms, you can get all the information you need.

Example

To show the flexibility and readiness of KIMBIA forms in a mobile environment, we’ve built an example of mobile-optimized application using a standard KIMBIA donation form on our Demo site. Pull up the link below on an iPhone (or other webkit browser) to see and use this live donation form for yourself. (Source: http://www.amhope.org/mobile )

Where other mobile donation technologies fall short

Recent events in Haiti have brought the promise of mobile donations into the news. While there has been vast public interest in mobile giving, there are some important limitations to the various mobile options that should be considered. Below are some examples of considerations for text-based giving, mobile giving apps, and other kinds of giving widgets.

Donations by Text (SMS)

There is only one donation level per SMS shortcode. This is usually set at $5 or $10. Fixed service fees and transactions fees associated with a text-based transaction can be considerably higher than a traditional online donation, depending on the pre-set donation level.

The charge appears on the donor’s cell phone bill, and since mobile carriers are not creditors, they are not able to release funds until their users’ bills have been paid. Therefore, funds are typically not released for up to 90 days after a text donation is made. ( http://money.cnn.com/2010/01/15/technology/haiti_text_donation_delay/index.htm )

When funds are released, they come in the form of an aggregation payment from the mobile carrier. For example, if a political organization used this system to raise money, the funds would likely come from an organization like AT&T or Verizon rather than from individual donors.

Confirming the donor identity through text is not possible. Unique identifiers like physical address (country of residence) and credit card CVV are not required, anyone can make a donation on any SMS-enabled device. In many cases, the person making the text donation is not the person paying the cell phone bill.

No additional donor data is delivered by the carriers. This means that organizations that are required to ask for ask for other data with the donation (e.g. ‘employer’ and ‘occupation’) will be unable to take donations via SMS. In addition, there is no other information available (e.g. email address & home address) to use for building a relationship with the donor.

Donations through downloadable mobile giving apps

Giving applications (like apps download on the iPhone) are only available to work on certain approved devices.

A different app must be custom designed, submitted and approved by each respective device’s app store or marketplace. (e.g. iTune App Store, Android Market, Blackberry App World, etc...)

User adoption is difficult, requiring marketing efforts to convince users to download the app for future donations.

Many companies like Google are pushing their development resources towards Web standards-based applications rather than downloadable apps. ( http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2009/07/google-app-store/ )

Donations through other “Widgets” on mobile devices

Other online donation platforms may claim to have a donation form “widget”. However, these are often not standards-based and use proprietary technologies like Adobe Flash in order to work.

Flash is not supported by many of the top mobile devices like the iPhone, ITouch, and new iPad. This means that at least 57% of US mobile Web users will not be able to even load the donation form on their mobile device.

The answer is yes, when the phone is using a modern web browser.

KIMBIA's apps rely on JavaScript functionality and security features, as well as CSS 2 support. These technologies are commonplace on todays desktop browsers (Firefox, Internet Explorer 7, Safari & Opera). A few mobile browsers are currently supporting these standard browser technologies, and therefore are also able to support donating/registering with a KIMBIA form:

Based on these most recent statistics, KIMBIA donations and registrations could be accessible to more than 69% of mobile Internet traffic. We expect this number to only trend upward as more mobile browsers are released and/or improved.
Are you a KIMBIA customer running an Advocacy-based fundraising campaign? Have you challenged your supporters and athletes to raise funds on behalf of your organization?

Our Advocate Look-up widget allows your web site visitors to more easily support their friends by entering their name or email address. Now, they don't have to remember or find that old email with a personalized URL from their friend. They can just visit your website and look their friend up!

After an Advocate's information is submitted, the Look-up widget will either send the user to that Advocate's personalized donation form, or it will ask the user to choose the correct advocate from a list of potential matches.

<script src="https://widgets.kimbia.com/widgets/executor/advocateLookup?campaign=[CampaignPrefix].kimbia.com"></script>

Customizing your Advocate Look-up widget with CSS

We think our Advocate Look-up widget looks great out-of-the-box. But, if you would like to edit its look and feel, please be our guests. Using the custom CSS template below, you can easily adjust the default look and feel to match your existing HTML.

As always, customizing the CSS is optional. If you do choose to create a custom CSS file:
1) you're responsible for hosting this file on your website
2) only include the style attributes from the following template that you wish to override. Placing null value attributes in your declarations will cause your styling to break in unexpected ways!

KIMBIA Advocate Lookup Widget Custom CSS template
The following image gives provides a visualization of the HTML elements available for styling and how the markup relates to the rendered widget:

Yes, using KIMBIA's standard form creation tools, you can easily create a form that allows your staff to manually enter information about donations and/or registrations that were not transacted online. These manually entered data points can then be included in your overall data for the fundraiser or event.
