MicroEdge & Kimbia Announce Partnership to Provide Innovative Solutions

Integrated, Donor-Driven, Online Fundraising and Event Management Solutions Enable Community Foundations to Raise Awareness with Constituents

NEW YORK, NY – September 16, 2011 – MicroEdge, LLC, the leading provider of solutions for the giving community worldwide, and Kimbia, Inc., a leading provider of online fundraising and event management tools, today announced a joint partnership to provide online donor-driven, giving solutions to MicroEdge’s community foundation clients. Through this partnership, community foundations using MicroEdge’s FIMS foundation management system can now have access to flexible, easy-to-use, donor and community engagement forms and tools to support online efforts to manage and grow their donor relationships. These tools are seamlessly integrated with the FIMS system, creating increased efficiency and easier management, while helping community foundations better position themselves as the leader for all forms of philanthropy.

The MicroEdge / Kimbia solution is designed to increase the profile and awareness of community foundations with major donors, corporate partners, local nonprofits, and the community-at-large. Initial product solutions include community giving sites, cause fundraising tools optimized for social media and viral fundraising, match and donor challenge event solutions, employee giving campaigns, disaster relief sites, and online registration for events. Kimbia’s patent-pending, embeddable widget technology is easy-to-use and allows community foundations and their donors to fundraise across the Web. Donations can be tracked to the referring site and data from Kimbia is easily uploaded into FIMS for donation processing and reporting.

“Our community foundation clients need to effectively sustain and nurture their growth so they can readily address important issues in the community,” says Preston McKenzie, CEO of MicroEdge. “As more and more donors are turning to the Internet to facilitate their giving, we are extremely pleased to partner with KIMBIA to help our clients leverage the Web with powerful tools that connect and extend their ability to raise awareness and grow their foundation.”

MicroEdge FIMS is a fully integrated, enterprise technology solution that allows community foundations, faith-based organizations and education and scholarship foundations to perform grants management, financial management and donor relationship management with one centralized, comprehensive system. Nearly 85 percent of the total assets of the community foundation market are managed with FIMS, which enables foundations to dramatically reduce the time and effort involved with tracking and managing foundation information, managing pooled investments and preparing financial, donor and board reports. These time and efficiency savings are significant, adding up to six-figure savings every year for many organizations.

Kimbia provides powerful, innovative online fundraising and event management tools to community foundations and other nonprofit organizations. Although relatively new to the community foundation market, Kimbia already works with four of the sixteen largest community foundations in the U.S.

“We are tremendously excited to be engaging with industry leader, MicroEdge, in an ideal partnership that combines their established product position in the community foundation market, with Kimbia’s leading-edge solutions for donor-driven, online fundraising and event management,” says Daniel Gillett, CEO of Kimbia. “At a time when community foundations are facing a changing environment that will see tremendous growth in e-Philanthropy over the next decade – growth that will drive the market from $15 billion to $185 billion by 2020, according to Giving USA – our joint solution will increase the awareness of community foundations in exciting new ways and continue to position them as the thought leader for all forms of philanthropy.”
